Boseong County is located in the middle-south of the Jeollanam province in the southern of the Korean peninsula. It faces the Deukryang Bay in south and the inland counties which are adjacent to the west, Hwasun to the north, and Suncheon to the east. As of December, 2005, it has the population of 53,291 with 22,862 households. With Mt. Jeam and Mt. Jeseok, it is the most mountainous region in the South Jeolla Province.
The climate of Boseong has four clearly distinguished seasons. The annual average temperature is 11.9 ¡É and the temperature range is highly variable the hottest being 24.7¡É in August and the coldest averaging around - 1.3¡É in January. Annual average precipitation amounts to 1,326mm. The most precipitation is shown in the summer, when the northern Pacific Ocean appears while the lowest precipitation appears in winter.
Boseong has rapidly become a major transport center, thanks to the recently built highway connecting Mokpo and Gwangyang. There are also railways connecting Mokpo Daebul Industrial Complex, Gwangyang Foundry, and Yuhchun Industrial Complex. Boseong is also located with in a huge consumption market covering Gwangju, Mokpo, and Suncheon region.

| Boseong is arguably known as the best tourist site in Korea. Boseong is well known for it abundant realm of nature: Blue Mountains, crystal-clear lakes, and the refreshing ocean. Especially, Boseong is renowned for its tea fragrance. Famous for its production of tea, every May the county is covered by a sea of green. From tea paddies and Yulpo Beach, Boseong features harmony between mountains and sea. Boseong also hosts an annual tea festival. |
